Scandinavian Etsy Gift Guide
The holidays are upon us and most of us are starting to, if not in the middle of trying to find gifts for all our loved ones. So I thought it’d be fun to create our very first Scandinavian Etsy Gift Guide.
I have always loved to shop small and always prefer something handmade over industrially produced. And especially after a year like this when so many small business owners are struggling to stay afloat I find it even more important to highlight all the small businesses out there who are creating stunning pieces for our homes.
In this post we have gathered 25 of our favorite items that we’ve have been eyeing on Etsy this year.
So let’s get right into it shall we?!
#1 Minimal Vase 1
This is a handmade ceramic vase perfect to display a branch or two of your favorite blooms. I think it would look absolutely gorgeous in a shelf or on your bedside table. The seller is called EverDreamCraft, and the link to find it is HERE.
#2 Abstract Fine Art Print
This is a minimalistic artwork that you can order to get printed on either a fine art paper or a satin finished canvas. It’s printed with archival pigment inks to withstand time, and the seller has lots of similar prints that you can combine it with. This is the perfect touch if you want to add a bit of minimalistic abstract art into your home. The seller is called Gallery J9. The link to find it is HERE.
#3 Handpoured Soy Candle
This hand poured Soy Candle is available in 8 different fragrances. The one I’m eyeing is the one called Palm which is a mix of Coconut + Mango + Tahitian Vanilla. It is made with natural, domestically grown soy wax, premium fragrance oils and an all cotton, braided wick. What I love about this one is that once the candle has burned down you can just clean up the ceramic container and use it for storage or as a piece of decor. The seller is called WhimseaDesignsStore. The link to find it is HERE.
#4 Lightweight Wool Throw
As it’s getting colder I’m always looking for a warm wool throw to wrap myself in. This is handmade in 100% New Zeeland wool. Its available in 4 colors but I absolutely love this light grey one. The dimensions are 73 inches long * 51 long inches wide. The seller is called CraftRivers and the link to find it is HERE.
#5 Heavy Linen Bag
This linen bag is made out of 100% prewashed European linen. The fabric used is scraps from other high quality linen products in an effort to reduce waste during the production process. I love it when companies come up with creative ideas like this. It is OEKO-TEX certified and available in 8 colors. The dimensions are bigger than your “normal” tote bag and is the perfect bag when you’re packing for the beach or when you’re going shopping for a lot of things. The seller is called LinenMeStore and the link to find it is HERE.
#6 Ceramic Statement Vase
I always try to find a few statement pieces that catches your attention when you walk into a room. These handmade ceramic pieces are a perfect example of that. I initially thought they were sculptures, but behind the faces there is actually a vase, so they can be used both as a statement piece and sculpture, or as a unique vase to put your flowers in. The seller is called EverDreamCraft and the link to find it is HERE.
#7 Textured Pillowcase
I usually talk a lot about layering different textures to create interest in a room with neutral and/or monochrome tones. This is a perfect example of a piece with a lot of great organic texture. This pillowcase is handsown and made by a mix of cotton and linen. It also has a hidden zipper closure in the back. The seller is called LinenandJames and the link to find it is HERE.
#8 Minimal Circle Vase
Here’s a couple more stunning handmade ceramic vases. I love the sleek shape and the earth toned colors of these ones. They also go very well together as a set. I would buy one big and two small ones and make it a centerpiece with different length and shape of the flowers in the two small ones. The seller is called NutPottery and the link to find it is HERE.
#9 Wooden Wall Clock
There is just something about pieces in raw wood that gets me every time. This hanging wall clock is handmade and runs on AA-batteries. I love how minimalistic it is and I think it might be my new favorite wall clock. The seller is called KokaDecore and the link to find it is HERE.
#10 Set of 4 Abstract Print Downloads
This is a great budget option if you are looking to add some abstract geometrical art into your home. You get a set of 4 downloadable files that you can print and frame yourself. #14 Kinetic Mobile in Brass
This brass mobile is the perfect piece if you are looking to add a little life and warmth to a corner but you don’t want to add any more furniture. It is so peaceful to watch the slow movement of a mobile, and I always love anything that reflects the light coming in through the window. This one is handmade and has that gorgeous slight but not overbearing shine that only brass can bring. The seller is called CatherinesStudioEtsy and the link to find it is HERE.
#15 Handwoven Cotton Throw
I’m a sucker for minimal patterns and textures, and the herringbone weave in this cotton throw in combination with the fringing that gives it a little bit of a “not too put together” look makes me really happy. It is the perfect blanket to use as a throw on your couch, but you could also bring it with you in the summer and have it as a dreamy picnic blanket. The seller is called FINEGRID and you can find the link to it HERE.
